All workers have the right to be protected from sexual assault.
Sexual assault refers to sexual violence committed against the will of the person involved, such as rape, molestation, or sexual harassment.
- As the sexual harassment is any action causing sexual humiliation, uneasiness, or feeling of insult against the assaulted, it doesn’t only include physical behavior but also includes various aspects such as verbal or visual actions.
- You are able to change your workplace if you suffer from sexual harassment, sexual violence, attack, or habitual verbal abuse; and particularly, you can change your workplace emergently if there is a case of a sexual assault (rape or rape attempt). Please note that it is available only if there is evidence of the rape, therefore you need to seek counseling with a professional support center.
- To respond to sexual assault, you should clearly express that you do not like such unpleasant problem and then inform it to your colleagues to ask for help. If there is a problem, please immediately call the Migrant Women Hotline or a labor union.
