4-1. The Rights When a Worker Receives Wage
- The wage is paid to a worker one or more times a month on a designated day regularly in cash with the total amount.
○ The wage should be paid on the designated day every month.
- The employer should not arbitrarily change the date to pay wages.
○ The wage should be directly paid to the worker himself/herself.
- It should not be paid to a friend of the worker.
○ The wage should be paid in cash that is available to spend.
- It shouldn’t be paid with a voucher, a coupon, or a product that the company produces.
○ Full wages should be paid.
- Nothing such as utility, electricity and/or internet bill should be deducted without consent before your wage is paid.
○ You should receive your wage statement.
- You should receive a wage statement describing the total amount of wage, detailed amount for respective items, the way to calculate, and respective amounts for deduction items.
4-2. Minimum Wage and Additional Allowance
- The minimum wage in 2025 is 10,030 won per hour!
- You should get paid no less than the minimum wage even if you are an EPS worker, trainee visa holder or an undocumented worker.
